Once you have decided which service you are going to use you will need to sign up with that service. This is straight forward, all you need to do is enter a few details such as a username and password and sometimes a few other details depending on the service you have chosen.
Now you have signed up for a free blog you will have a domain name, this will usually be a subdomain. This means that the web address will be something like this.
YourChosenName.FreeBlog.com
This is the address people will use to access your blog.
For you to be able to add a post into your new blog you will have to use the blog providers control panel. This will be a page with some forms where you can type your message to be posted, there will be a button you need to click to actually post your message to your new blog.
It’s as easy as that. Depending on the blog service provider you have chosen you will be offered certain customization options. Free services usually only provide a limited level of customization. You are usually allowed to change your template, this is the look of the site and controls the colour and layout of your blog.
Other options may include the ability to create an RSS feed, ping blog directories when you make a post and moderate comments made on your blog.
Finally you should expect some sort of advertising on your blog provided by your blog service provider, this is how they are able to provide your blog for free.
