Chitika is an advertising system that produces contextual ads. You can place these ads on your website and earn revenue each time a visitor clicks on the ad. As the ads are contextual they will display products related to the topic of your page.
The process of getting yourself set up with Chitika is similar to the process used for Adsense. You need to apply and become approved. Certain types of sites will not be accepted by Chitika, you can view the details in their terms.
Once approved all you need to do is paste a few lines of Javascript into your web page. You can customise the ad to suit your site, you are able to change border, title and text colour. There are a number of ad formats you can choose from, these cover the standard banner types from rectangles to squares. Payments are made monthly with a ten dollar minimum. The good thing I find about Chitika is that they pay via PayPal which makes it easier for international webmasters.
